This is a special tour where we want our Guests to experience the life of a farmer in Bhutan.
It has always been known that one should connect with mother earth and the best way to do it is by having your hands soiled for good.
Depending on when you travel to Bhutan, we include the activities that can be done during your time in Bhutan.
The activities will include starting the day with a farmer and his family. Eating the morning Bhutanese home breakfast, then completing the morning chores of milking the cow, feeding the pigs, feeding the cows, sweeping the manure out, or watering the nearby vegetable garden.
Then the farmer will take the cows to graze either to the nearby fields or the forest.
Depending on the season, the farmer will cultivate, plant or harvest his fields or forage into the woods for mushroom and wild vegetables or collect manure.
This experience is thoughtfully created for Bhutan Jewel Travel guests so that our Guests enjoy the Bhutanese hospitality and touch the daily lives of our famers who soil their hands to feed us all.
You can have the option of staying the night with the farmer family or you can enjoy the hotel rooms comfort once the days chores are complete.
The farmer will feed you their home cooked food in return for your helping hand. AND it’s the connection you make with simple people that will rejuvenate your soul too.

Phobjikha Valley is a sanctuary for the ENDANGERED Black Necked Cranes. Here there are no overhead powerlines or cables, this is to protect the Cranes from getting caught in wires.
Visit the Black Necked Crane Center and if its between the months of late October and early February then you will get to see the cranes in this valley as they would have flown into Bhutan from far away Tibet Plateau.
If you visit during any other months, we still have the 2 cranes that are sheltered at the Phobjikha Cranes Center as they have been injured and have been living here for several years now.
